President Mahama launches Youth Enterprise Support initiative to night

The National Youth Authority has developed nineteen modules and programmes to enhance youth participation in nation building especially job creation.

President Mahama will later in the day launch a ten million Ghana Cedi youth fund to promote youth entrepreneurship.

Meanwhile, an NGO, Youth without Borders has asked leaders and governments in Africa to channel majority of their time and resources to develop the youth.

In a statement, it says young people are now tagged as ‘the lost generation’ and many see them as lazy, unfocused, disrespectful, impatient and breakers of the law.

The statement says all that young people need is the right investment of time, energy, opportunities, money and ideas.

This it says will help Ghana and Africa to continue to enjoy lasting peace and development.

The statement added that President Mahama's launch of the Youth Enterprise Fund as part of the country’s commitment to youth development is a welcome news.

It hopes that the fund will enable many young people to realise their dreams of having their own businesses and contribute to national development and Africa as a whole.
