Youth Alliance for Development Calls for Ghana's Educational System to Place Emphasis on Vocational and Technical education  

The Youth Alliance for Development an NGO has called for overhauling of Ghana's educational system to place much emphasis on Vocational and Technical education.  

In a statement signed by the Executive Director, Robert Tanti Ali it suggested a one year apprenticeship programme for all Senior High School graduates to equip them with practical skills to make them self-dependent.  

The statement appealed to government to place BECE candidates who fail to get placement into apprenticeship programmes and provide support for their training.  

It further appealed to the West African Examination Council to consider using other forms of assessing students at the basic level especially their capabilities in agriculture, sports, sewing, catering and recommend them for further studies in their areas of interest.
