Ghanaian youth saluted as world marks International Youth Day

Just Care Foundation, IDAY-Ghana and Abibiman Foundation salute all youth in Ghana as they celebrate this year’s youth day. 

In a statement, the group said African youth face huge challenges to which they contribute very little. 

It says the youth have been forced to live their lives as adults because of lack of access to basic social services and that make them vulnerable to other health risks. 

According to the group, mental health has become more of a social problem and the plight of the Ghanaian youth keep worsening because of the breakdown of the external family system.

Furthermore, the adverse effects of IMF and all the trade injustices will compel most parents and guardians to lose their jobs and livelihoods.

The group says all hope is not lost, as it will continue to engage stakeholders for every opportunity to let them focus on youth issues and put in place appropriate policies and laws that will protect and promote the well-being of young people in the country.
