Cholera Outbreak: Efforts Must Being Done to Improve Sanitation in the Country Although efforts are being made medically to contain the cholera outbreak, not much is being done to improve sanitation in the Metropolis. Yesterday, Radio Ghana reported on the high number of cholera cases in some hospitals, where two people were said to have died of the disease. A key trigger of cholera is said to be filth. However, a visit to some parts of Accra, showed heaps of refuse. According to Gloria Anderson and Tracy Opoku-Appiah, the lack of awareness on the causes of cholera among the public is a major factor to the continuous outbreak of the disease. Source: GBC
