NPP to Announce Outcome of Vetting of Flagbearer Aspirants Later Today The Opposition NPP is expected to hold a news conference this afternoon to disclose the outcome of the vetting of its presidential aspirants and the next line of action. Yesterday, the Vetting Committee of the party presented a 12 page report to the party’s General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong. In all, seven aspirants, Nana Akufo Addo, Alan Kyeremanten, Francis Addai Nimoh, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Joe Ghartey, and Kofi Osei Ameyaw were vetted by the nine member committee headed by a former Council of State member, Ama Busia. At the time of presentation of the report, Mr. Agyepong said the executive will study it and take the appropriate action. As at now, it is not clear if any aspirant has been disqualified. Should an aspirant be disqualified, he will have to appeal within 48 hours, but if no one is disqualified, all of them will go for a special congress on the 31st of next month to prune down the number to five.
