1992 Constitution Demands: Human Rights Educate All Public Officers about Knowledge and Respect the Rights of People

Article 12 of the 1992 Constitution demands of all public officers to have knowledge of human rights as duty bearers to be able to respect the rights of persons they render service to. 

However this does not appear to be the case as some workers particularly those in the health sector go on strike to the detriment of their patients. 

To reverse this trend the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice, CHRAJ is advocating the streamlining of human rights education into the curricula of all professional training institution for service delivery in the public services. 

A Deputy Commissioner of CHRAJ Joseph Whittal made the suggestion at a graduation ceremony for 68 students of the Wa Health Assistant Training School in Basic Human Rights Course at Wa.
