NPP General Secretary Describes Open Declaration by NPP Executives for Nana Akufo Addo as Unacceptable The General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyepong has described the open declaration of support for Nana Addo by MPs and some party executives as an open violation and deliberate disregard for party guidelines. He said the party's guidelines are clear that MPs and party executives shall not openly declare support for any aspirant, and that what happened yesterday was a breach of the rules. He said the party leadership has taken note of the event, but fell short of stating whether or not some disciplinary action will be taken against those involved. In a related development, a Senior Lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nicholas Amponsah, says the 2012 flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo has a daunting task of uniting the party if he is elected to lead the party again. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Prof Amponsah said the open declaration of support for Nana Addo by MPs and other leading members of the party has serious ramification for party unity. He however added that, it will be improper for any disciplinary action to be taken against those leaders who openly declared support for Nana Addo. GBC
