Japanese students Arrive In Ghana

Twenty one Japanese students are in the country to share educational and cultural experience with their counterparts in Ghana.

The Japanese students who are from Azabu High School in Tokyo will visit St. Peters Senior High School at Akwatia in the Eastern Region.

The students and their tutors were received at the Foreign Affairs Ministry in Accra on Friday. 

Welcoming them, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kwesi Quartey recounted the bilateral relations between the two countries and the immense contribution of Dr. Noguchi
towards malaria research in Ghana. 

Ambassador Quartey expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for grants and financial assistance towards the development of Ghana. 

A former Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Kazuko Asai said the exchange programme is to
promote international peace among the youth. 

While in the country, the students will visit places including the Asanteman Museum in the Ashanti Region, the Cocoa College at Bunsu in the Eastern Region and Akwapim Mampong, where the first Cocoa was planted.
