Accra Circuit Court Issued For The Arrest Of Robert Mensah. An Accra Circuit court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a Lobbyist, Robert Mensah, for defrauding one Kenneth Porter of 16 thousand cedis. Mensah fraudulently received the money by falsely representing that he could assist the complainant, an American businessman resident in Ghana, reclaim a property he lost to some individuals in a land dispute. According to the facts of the case, Porter and Mensah met at the Golden Tulip Hotel in February this year and became acquainted. Porter informed Mensah of his loss of a diamond polishing factory to some individuals over a land dispute. Mensah is said to have introduced himself to the complainant as an employee at the office of the Vice President, and could therefore help reclaim the property. Subsequently, Mensah introduced certain individuals to the complainant as personnel from the Lands Commission and the Registrar Generals Department to make his claim credible. As a result Porter made payments totalling 16 thousand cedis to Mensah. The money was to facilitate the process but Mensah failed to deliver on his word. He arranged at a later date in March, to collect additional money from the complainant but was arrested by the Police who had been briefed on the issue. Mensah admitted the offence and refunded five thousand cedis out of the amount but has since disappeared from the scene. Source: GBC
