Presidential Amnesty to Commemorate 54th Republic Day

The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service, Vitalis Ayeh, has explained what usually goes into the selection of prisoners who are granted amnesty by the President. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana in connection with the one thousand one hundred and four prisoners granted amnesty by President Mahama to commemorate Ghana's 54th Republic Day, DSP Ayeh said the President's prerogative does not extend to hardened criminals and prisoners who have committed heinous atrocities against the state.
