Police Headquarters for Odumase in Sunyani West District of Brong-Ahafo As part of efforts to upscale security in the Sunyani West District of Brong-Ahafo, the DCE for the area, Madam Agnes Kusi has cut the sod for the commencement of work on a police headquarters at the district capital, Odumase. The building which will be a state-of-the-art facility is estimated at 395 thousand 863 point six-five Ghana Cedis. The project which is scheduled for completion in 12 months is being executed by a Sunyani based Oasis Company Limited. The facility will among others, have a conference room, 10 offices, male and female cells as well as a cell for juveniles. Madam Agnes Kusi observed that the facility will help fast-track the development of the District and expressed appreciation to Nananom for their support towards the project. The DCE charged the contractor to deliver within the project schedule, saying she hoped to see something substantial at the project site in six months’ time. She pointed out that the construction of a police facility at Odumase will help fight crime appropriately. The Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Commander, DCOP Maxwell Atingane reiterated that cooperation between the police and their civilian counterparts is key in contemporary policing and stressed the need for the public to work hand-in-hand with law enforcement agencies for the good of all. DCOP Atingane was very thankful to the Sunyani West District Assembly for the initiative to construct the facility for the police. The Mawerehene of Awuah Domase, Nana Osei Kwadwo Boadi Amponim promised that the Awuah Domase and the Odumase Number One Traditional Councils will do all within their power to lend hand to efforts in stemming criminal activities in Odumase.
