ECOWAS Member States set 2020 to Attain Use of One Currency, ECO The Head of States of West Africa Monetary Zone, has set 2020 as the new deadline to attain the one currency, the ECO for the ECOWAS Member States. This comes on the back of the member countries inability to meet all the convergence criteria. This was the outcome at the on-going National Coordinating Committee of ECOWAS Multilateral Surveillance Mechanism meeting in Accra. The Acting Director of ECOWAS Multi Surveillance Mechanism, Dr. Nelson Magbagbeola, asked member countries to ensure a conducive environment for a successful single regional economic space towards growth and development.
