Support To Facilitate The Promotion Of Solar Energy.

A priority of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum is to support the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani to facilitate the promotion of solar energy. 

The Ministry is supporting the University to secure a loan from the International Renewable Energy Agency to support solar installation in ten public Universities and off-grid electrification in hundred communities nationwide. 

Deputy Minister for Energy and Petroleum John Jinapor explains the move is part of support package outlined to ensure that the University becomes a Center for Excellence in Energy and renewable energy. 

Mr.Jinapor announced this when he presented a set of solar energy kits to the University in Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
