Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication wins another award The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication, GIFEC has been adjudged for the second time, the best in the provision of Rural Telephony across the world. The Rural Telephony project provides 2G and 3G base stations with small cellular antennas providing free internet services in addition to traditional voice service. The project aims at providing universal access to telecommunications in rural areas. Speaking at a media briefing in Accra, the Chief Executive of GIFEC, Kofi Attoh said the Rural Communication project is part of government's vision to ensure that every citizen has access to communication services, regardless of the geographical location.
