Two Burkinabes arrested with pistols

Two Burkinabes arrested for possessing firearms will have to wait a little longer while efforts are made to contract an interpreter for translation at the trial. 

The two suspects were put before the circuit court in Accra, but the court presided over by Mr Ali Baba had to adjourn for lack of an interpreter. 

The prosecution informed the court that it was relying on the registrar of the court and the Bureau of National Investigation BNI, to provide an interpreter for trial. 

The suspects Sare Yacouba, a driver and Suleimane Porgo a painter, are Burkinabes living and working in Côte D'Ivoire. 

The suspects reportedly left Abidjan for Benin on the 4th of this month, arriving at the Aflao border post on the morning of July 5, to enable them to cross to Togo. 

According to the prosecution, some youth who saw them felt suspicious and subjected them to a search. 

In the process, two pistols and 32 rounds of ammunition were found on them. 

They were later handed over to the BNI at Aflao who transferred them to Accra for interrogation.
