NPP Sets October 18 to Elect Presidential Candidate and August 30th for Special Congress The NPP has set October 18 for its Presidential primaries for 2016 election. The National Council took the decision at a meeting yesterday to discuss upcoming elections in the Party. It also picked 31st August for a special congress to trim down the number of Presidential Aspirants to five. Seven candidates, including former trade minister, Alan Kyeremanten and presidential candidate for the 2012 elections, Nana Akufo Addo submitted nomination forms. Meanwhile, A Political strategist and Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Kobby Mensah, says it will be a big disappointment if Nana Akuffo Addo and Alan Kyeremanteng fail to meet the cut-off point at the NPP vetting aimed at trimming down the number of flagbearer aspirants to five. He entreated all NPP members to accept the outcome of the vetting, adding that the process is in the right direction. GBC
