THE DAILY GRAPHIC: thinks it is time government reviewed its pro-poor policy interventions so that the targeted groups will enjoy the full benefits.The paper finds it difficult to appreciate why the rich cocoa farmer should benefit from social intervention policies because they live in deprived communities. The Graphic insists these policies must
identify the poor in society and craft interventions  to alleviate
their plight. The paper thinks when this is done, increases in prices of any goods will not affect them.
                      
THE GHANAIAN TIMES:  is worried over the current shortage of cement in the country which has necessitated an adjustment in its price by the manufacturers.  The paper says GHACEM is currently facing challenges in an attempt to solve the situation. While construction firms are being compelled to lay off workers due to the unavailability of cement,  importers of cement cannot meet the demand and supply due to
the depreciation of the cedi. The paper therefore urges relevant
ministries and agencies to come together to curb the situation.
                                
THE DAILY HERITAGE: reacting to the latest upward adjustment in
Petroleum prices and transport fares says it is unbelievable for a supposed socialist oriented government like the NDC to keep
frustrating the lives of Ghanaians. According to the paper, the announcement by government that the 15 percent increment in transport fares will not affect Metro Mass buses, is only an agenda to mitigate
the effects of the price increase. The paper says it will only be "heartless" for government to keep increasing prices of basic commodities that its masses depend on.
                                  
THE TODAY NEWSPAPER: questions government on how the taxes it collect from the people are being used. The paper wonders why Ghana as a nation has failed to judiciously use taxes collected to address the country"s needs and wants as done by many countries like the UK, Germany and Canada. The paper adds that times are too hard for the ordinary Ghanaian, whilst some leaders take advantage of the porous nature of the tax system to amass wealth for themselves. It charges government to be accountable and use the little taxes it collects profitably to improve on the state of the economy.
