Youth and Sports Minister Announces a Commission of Inquiry into Brazil Fiasco
 

Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga has announced  a Constitutional Commission of Enquiry into what led to Ghana’s poor showing before and during the ongoing World Cup in Brazil.
     
Initially, Ayariga named a three- member Committee which includes Appeals Court Judge Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Sports broadcaster Moses Foh Amoaning and Kofi Anokye Darko to present a report on the Black Stars unexpected exit from the Mundial.
     
Ayariga announced that he has moved the committee into a commission giving it the powers to summon people to appear before it after he discussed it with President Dramani Mahama.
    
He said: “I have monitored social media and media discussions since the committee was set up. I had a meeting with the President and he has agreed that we should turn it into a Presidential Commission of Enquiry.”
     
The Committee was tasked to enquire into how the Black Stars prepared for the tournament and possible lapses therein which might have caused their early exit from the tournament, indicating that Coach Kwesi Appiah and management might be called before the committee.
     
They will also enquire into matters relating to technical and management of Ghana Black Stars team and issues regarding how supporters were conveyed to the tournament by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
    
Ayariga assured Ghanaians his outfit that Government will act on the recommendation of the commission who have a month to present its report.
