44 New Cases And 21 Deaths In Sierra Leone, Liberia And Guinea.
 
The World Health Organisation says the Ebola virus continues to spread in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea, with 44 new cases and 21 deaths between July 6 and 8 this year.

This has brought the total deaths in West Africa's first outbreak of the deadly disease to 888 cases. 

Reports indicate that the epidemic trend in Liberia and Sierra Leone maintains high numbers of new cases and deaths. 

At the 45th ECOWAS summit held in Accra on Thursday, an Ebola solidarity fund was set up to back a regional approach to the epidemic. 

President John Mahama, encouraged Africans to eschew panic and misinformation in tackling issues of the Ebola virus.The virus causes fever, vomiting, bleeding and diarrhoea and kills up to 90 percent of those infected.
