Summit of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government Opens in Accra Today
                          

Some ECOWAS Heads of State and Government have arrived in Accra for the Mid-year Review Summit of the sub-regional body which begins today. 

Presidents Mahamudou Issoufou of Niger, Ibrahim Boubakar Keita of Mali, Guinea Bissau's Sherifo Nhamadjo, Alassane Ouattara of Cote d'Ivoire, Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria  

Thomas Yayi Boni of Benin, Macky Sall of Senegal, Blaise Compaore of Burkina Faso and Liberia's Ellen Johnson Sirleaf have all arrived. 

Presidents Yahyah Jammeh of the Gambia and Faure Gnassingbe of Togo will arrive today. 

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur welcomed the Heads of State who arrived last night.
