WAHO Ensures That Ebola Virus Does Not Spread to Its Member Countries and Stakeholders The West African Health Organisation says it is closely working with member countries and other stakeholders to ensure that the Ebola Virus does not spread. In a message the Director General of the Organisation, Xavier Crespin said although research is being conducted on the virus, it is a wakeup call for member countries to implement high strategies to ensure that contagious diseases that affect the productivity of citizens are eliminated. He was speaking in Accra at the Joint West African Health Organisation Day. Mr. Crespin asked governments of member countries to allocate 15 percent of their national budget to the health sector as stated in the 1991 Abuja declaration. Source: GBC
