Summit of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government opens in Accra on Thursday July 10 2014 The deadly Ebola disease will feature prominently in deliberations at the 45th Ordinary Session of ECOWAS which takes place in Accra on Thursday. Other issues like the EPA, Abidjan-Lagos-Accra Highway project, Northern Mali and Guinea Bissau will also be tabled. Presidential Spokesperson, Ben Dotsei Malor, mentioned these at a news briefing at Flagstaff House ahead of the summit. In a related development, President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed optimism about the outcome of the two-day ECOWAS summit. He told Radio Ghana that the leaders will take far-reaching decisions for the benefit of the sub-region. President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo is expected to join his colleagues this morning. Meanwhile, the Director-General of the MTTU, ACP Agwubutoge Awuni, has called for total co-operation from the public to ensure a hitch free summit. He suggested that motorists pack their private cars and join public transport to avoid undue traffic hold up and delays. GBC
