Appeals Court Judge Senyo Dzamafeh Chairs Three Member Committee To Investigate Black Stars’ Participation In World Cup

Government has set up a three member committee to investigate the Black Stars participation in the World cup in Brazil. 

The committee is chaired by an Appeals Court judge, Senyo Dzamafeh. 

The other two members are legal practitioner and Sports analyst Moses Foh Amoaning and sports enthusiast and accountant Kofi Anokye Owusu Darko. 

A statement signed by the Youth and Sports Minister, Mahama Ayariga says the committee is to enquire into matters relating to the team's preparation for the tournament and possible lapses therein which might have caused their early exit from the tournament. 

It is also to enquire into the management of the team and events in their camp during the tournament. 

It will also look into the treatment of Ghanaian football fans who were sent to support the Black Stars by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and as well as advise government on the financing of activities of the Senior National Team and other national teams. 

Finally, it will inquire into all other related matters of public interest concerning the organization of the Black Stars’ participation in the tournament. 

The Committee has thirty days to present its report.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association, GFA, has welcomed any committee set up to investigate the Black Stars participation in the World Cup in Brazil. 

At a recent media encounter, President of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi said the Football Association will cooperate with any such committee so far as its work is in line with the laws of Ghana and in accordance with FIFA regulations. 

And reacting to the three member ministerial committee, Director of Communications of the GFA, Ibrahim Sani Dara, said the FA stands by its earlier stance on the matter. 

According to him, the GFA has nothing to hide.
