Decreasing of Trust in Public Institutions Identified as Factors Killing Spirit of Patriotism in Ghana Decreasing trust in public institutions, selfishness and indiscipline have been identified as factors killing the spirit of patriotism and the citizenry. The National Youth Authority has organised a patriotism lecture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to re-ignite the values of patriotism among the youth. Speaking at the forum, the National Coordinator of the Youth Authority Ras Mubarak says Parent and Senior Citizens should strengthen the process of imbibing good family values in children to grow up to become patriotic citizens. The Managing Editor of The Insight Newspaper Kwesi Pratt , said Ghanaians in general have lost their sense of patriotism. This he blamed on the lack of quality leadership which is a strong ingredient of patriotism. Mr. Pratt described the attitude of the Black Stars which led to their exit from the world cup in Brazil as unpatriotic. GBC
