Barack Obama praises his compatriots 

US President, Barack Obama has praised his compatriots for their determination in building the world`s strongest democracy.

He said there is no nation on earth that would not want to trade places with America.

In a message to the nation on its 238th Independence anniversary, Mr. Obama thanked Americans for their patriotism and commitment to duty, thereby making the country a beacon of hope for the world.

He said though the country`s forebearers came from different backgrounds and persuasions, they were united by a simple creed based on the fact that all men were created equal.

He paid glowing tribute to those who have blazed the trail in fighting for freedom for all, irrespective of race or creed.
