COCOBOD To Introduce Free Fertilizer Initiative

COCOBOD will soon introduce a free fertilizer initiative which will supply free fertilizer to cocoa farmers. The initiative will also help farmers in the application and utilization of the fertilizers. 

The Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD Dr. Stephen Opuni said this when he addressed a meeting of the 2014 COCOBOD syndication loan presentation in London. 

Dr. Opuni explained that COCOBOD is initiating the free fertilizer projects because substantial number of cocoa farmers in Ghana are unable to afford and properly utilize fertilizer. 

COCOBOD would use the services of cocoa extension officers to educate the farmers on its proper application to ensure maximum yield.
