Lower Volta Bridge at Sogakope Under Threat of Collapse 

The Lower Volta Bridge at Sogakope linking the Greater Accra
Region to the southern part of the Volta Region and also alternate route since the closure of the Adomi Bridge, is under threat due to sand-winning activities in the river. 

There is the fear that the
650-metre bridge may soon collapse if the authorities do not take steps to stop the sand-winning and other activities that are on ascendency around the bridge.
