Appropriate Use of Channel to Liberalize Media Environment in Ghana Ghanaians have been advised to use the appropriate channel to settle their grievances rather than taking advantage of the liberalize media environment to cause fear and panic. The attitude paints a negative picture for some men of repute or tarnishes the image of communities. The Akwamuhemaa, Nana Afrakoma, gave the advice at a news conference at Akwamufie in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region. It was in reaction to an allegation leveled against the Asuogyaman District Chief Executive, Thomas Ampem Darko, on an alleged encroachment on Senchi Stool Lands. Nana Afrakoma said, the Queen mothers in the Akwamu Traditional Area do not bear any grudge against the District Chief Executive neither have they delegated their powers to anyone to go on air to raise issues on land encroachment. Nana Afrakoma explained that Senchi is part of the Akwamu Paramountcy and often do things in common; adding that, even all of them took part in the closure of the Adomi Bridge as well as the inauguration of the two ferries in March this year. She implored the traditional rulers to be mindful of the way they speak in public in order not to drag the traditional council into unecessary public debate. Source: GBC
