Indonesia Boat carrying 97 people Sinks

A boat carrying 97 Indonesians has sunk off Malaysia, with at least 61 people missing. 

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency's spokesperson said, passengers mainly women and children, were illegal migrants.

The wooden vessel sank about midnight off Port Klang, near Banting on the Strait of Malacca. Rescue boats were deployed to the area to retrieve the bodies.

A Maritime Official, Muhammad Zuri, told reporters that it was an illegal boat that was not authorised for ocean voyages. 

He said those on board were Indonesians, working in Malaysia illegally, who were now trying to return home for the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
