The Daily Graphic expresses outrage at the country's power producers and the public utilities Regulatory Commission, PURC for their inability to find an antidote to the energy crisis. Whiles urging government to invest more in the energy sector to address the energy shortfall, the Graphic is not happy that the PURC with all the power at its disposal has remained a sleeping giant that is unable to bite or enforce its own directives to meet the expectations of consumers. In the light of current energy deficit, the Graphic commends the Energy Commission for its switch off the freezer campaign aimed at conserving energy. The paper calls on all to contribute in the campaign to protect the energy generating system. 

The  Today Newspaper  says it is important that government does all it can to ensure that the work of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies is well supervised and enhanced to promote efficiency at the local government level and also bring development to the people. To the paper, this can only be achieved when the role of civil society organisations is recognised by law to help the CSO's take on MMDAs which sometimes flout laws governing their work. It believes that it is incumbent therefore on government to make the necessary budget available for the MMDAs and its affiliate institutions to work hand in hand for the betterment of the people. 

The Daily Heritage is worried about the needless politicisation of everything in the country and even sports. To the paper the tendency by the two major political parties to wish the Black Stars ill luck when they are in opposition, does not auger well for national unity.  The paper reminds all that since football is the passion of the nation and has strength of uniting the nation, it must be made to have its national posturing at all times.
