Vice President Amissah Arthur confers with Brazillian business delegation A number of Brazilian companies operating in some sectors of the country's economy led by the Ambassador to Ghana Irene Vida Gala has conferred with the Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur at the Flagstaff House at Kanda in Accra. The companies are in the areas of road construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, energy and affordable housing. Vice President Amissah-Arthur said Ghana has a comparative advantage over its West African neighbours in the area of energy, quality work force, transportation, peace democracy and the rule of law. He said the government will continue to improve the investment climate in the economy. Vice President Amissah-Arthur also assured the business community in Ghana, as well as potential investors of government’s determination to remove hindrances that frustrates their investment drives. He said President Mahama has a strong vision for Ghana of rapid development within the medium term due to the country’s positioning within the West African region. Mr. Amissah-Arthur said Ghana and Brazil have traded a very congenial relationship that spans for years and said the number of Brazilians doing business in Ghana attests to that fact. For her part, the Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana, Irene Vida Gala expressed gratitude to the government of Ghana for the level of co-operation that Brazilian investors in the country continue to receive and hopes it will encourage more of potential investors to come in and enjoy same co-operation. She noted that the determination of the Brazilian firms to expand their investments would help to further strengthen the relations between Ghana and Brazil. According to the Ambassador, the two countries share common development objectives, and promised that the Brazilian government would continue to offer its expertise to support Ghana’s economic growth.
