President Mahama makes new promotions in the military

President John Dramani Mahama has promoted the Chief of the Defense Staff, Rear Admiral Matthew Quashie, to Vice Admiral. 

A statement said the Chief of Army Staff, Brigadier General Richard Opoku-Adusei, has been promoted to the rank of Major-General with Commodore Jeoffery Mawuli Biekro, the Chief of Naval Staff, being promoted to Rear Admiral. 

The promotions take effect from the 28th of last month, the day of their appointment.
