PURC to operationalize Renewable Energy Feed-In-Rates soon 

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, PURC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and the Energy Commission will soon operationalize the Renewable Energy Feed-In-Rates Scheme. 

The Scheme which is backed by the Renewable Energy Act 2011 is to encourage investments in the Renewable Energy Sector as a supplement to the existing energy generation from the conventional sources of larger hydro and thermal. 

To kick start public education on the scheme, the PURC and its collaborating institutions organised a training programme for selected journalists on aspects of Renewable Energy Feed-In-Rate at Akropong Akuapem in the Eastern Region.
