Christians Mark Resurrection Sunday To Signify Christ's Victory Over Death The Christian community globally is today marking Easter Sunday, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is the greatest feast on the Christian calendar, and a day of joy. Christians who will be attending church services are expected to be in white or gray clothing to signify their happiness about the risen Christ. The Presiding Elder Emeritus of AME Zion Church, Rev. Martin Vanderpuije, says Easter is a season of forgiveness, joy and peace for mankind. Christians must therefore strive to maintain the peace and harmony the country is enjoying. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Rev. Vanderpuije cautioned politicians against politicising every issue. He rather urged them to forge ahead and develop the country. In related development, fifteen children were baptised at the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church in Takoradi at a Vigil Service last night to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In a homily, the Parish Priest, Rev. Father Francis Oppong said the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave is a victory for mankind. It should therefore mark the beginning of the end to the numerous challenges facing the country and give hope to the people. GBC
