Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate warns of possible cholera outbreak The Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate warns that the region may experience cholera outbreak as the rainy season approaches. This may be as a result of the current shortage of water, coupled with poor sanitary conditions in the Accra Metropolis. In a statement signed by the Regional Director, Dr Mrs Linda Vanotoo, the Directorate appealed to Ghanaians to avoid as much as possible buying and eating cooked food which is exposed to dust and flies. They must also avoid unsafe water, eat food while hot and keep the environment clean among other hygienic measures. It further advised that in case of diarrhoea and vomiting, ORS or coconut water should be taken after which the patient must report immediately to the nearest health facility. GBC
