High HIV Infection Rate In Children- Ghana AIDS Commission Expresses Concern

The Ghana AIDS Commission says, it is disturbed about the number of children who are HIV positive in the country. 

A current report from the Commission reveals that about 32 thousand children are living with HIV. Again, one thousand, 500 babies are born with HIV every year. The Director of Technical Services at the Ghana AIDS Commission, Dr. Richard Amenyah, who made this known in Accra, said it has become critical that the Commission intensifies education on the prevention of mother to child transmission.
