President Mahama Appoints New Prison Boss

The President on the recommendations of the Prisons Service Council, has appointed Deputy Director General of Prisons, Ms. Matilda Baffour-Awuah as the Acting Director General of Prisons. 

She takes office following the retirement of Michael Kofi Bansah.

Ms. Matilda Baffour Awuah, until her appointment  was the Deputy Director General of Prisons in Charge of Finance and Administration. 

Prior to her current appointment, Ms Matilda Baffour-Awuah had served with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan as a Corrections Advisor to the National Prisons Service of South Sudan.
