Operation Okada- Personnel From Accra Central Mttu Embark On Motor Bike Arrests

Personnel from Accra Central MTTU yesterday embarked on an operation to arrest motor bike riders for various offences.

The operation was carried out at Odo Rice opposite Vodafone offices at circle. 

Our correspondent, Bubu Klinogo reports that as at 3pm about 20 riders were arrested and sent to the Central MTTU office.

 The motorbikes were loaded onto pick ups. 

The leader of the operation,DSP Akrofi, however declined to speak to the media. 

The riders were arrested for offences such as riding without license, riding without helmet and riding unlicensed motorbikes. 

They included both private and commercial riders known as Okada operators. 

While some were calm, others attempted resisting arrest, while some managed to bolt.
