Govt asked to implement UN resolution 1325 to ensure women's participation in governance, peace and security 

The Executive Director of the Ark foundation, Angela Dwamena-Aboagye is calling on government and other relevant bodies to see to the speedy implementation of UN resolution 1325 which seeks to draw attention to women's equal participation in governance, peace and security processes. 

She notes that since Ghana adopted the resolution in 2000, its implementation has been very slow, there by inhibiting women's active involvement in decision making with respect to peace and security. 

This came to light at a media interaction organised by the Women Peace and Security Institute of the Kofi Annan International Peace Keeping Training Center, to educate journalists on the need to focus their reports on Women, Peace and Security.
