The Daily Graphic calls on the Christian Health Association of Ghana to rescind its decision to resort to the cash and carry system in all mission hospitals because the NHIS owes them millions of Ghana cedis. The paper urges the Health Association to continue to dialogue with the government with the view to finding a solution to the problem.  According to the Graphic, the decision by the Association to reject the national health insurance card holder who reports to their hospitals for cash and carry can only be recipe for disaster. It says ordinary people in whose interest the scheme was introduced will suffer the consequences. The paper therefore calls on government to keep to the timetable to pay the hospitals what is due them so that they can continue to offer health services to the people. 

The Ghanaian Times describes as a landmark decision government's moves to have Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) elected through universal Adult suffrage. Quoting the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Akwasi Opong Fosu, the paper says the move is in line with recommendations of the Constitutional Review Commission. The Times is delighted that at long last Ghana has moved a step towards the realization of the wish of majority of Ghanaians, at seeing their MMDCEs, elected. The paper calls on Ghanaians to support government to fashion out the modalities and set a time line for the eventual public election of MMDCEs to give real meaning to participatory democracy in Ghana.
