Call to eschew individualistic attitudes for accelerated development

The Sunyani West District Chief Executive, Agnes Kusi, says a closer collaboration and support from all stakeholders will ensure an accelerated national development. 

She said government alone cannot meet the growing demand for improvement in socio-economic development with the limited resources. 

Ms Kusi made the call at a parade of school children and some voluntary organisations to commemorate Ghana’s 56th Independence anniversary celebration at Odumase.  

Ms Kusi urged the people to avoid individualist attitudes and selfishness and ensure collective responsibility to improve the efficiency and performance  of the public sector. 

Twenty-four schools from the Basic, Junior High Schools (JHS), Senior High School (SHS) and five cadet corps participated in the march past.  

Some teachers who had distinguished themselves in the district were honoured.  

Basic schools that excelled in the 2012 BECE, as well as pupils and students who distinguished themselves in extra-curricula activities were also awarded.
