GJA election postponed

The Elections Committee of the Ghana Journalists Association has rescheduled the national and regional elections from Friday, the 8th of this month to Tuesday  the 26th of this month. 

A statement by the Chairman of the Committee, Ben Assorrow, said, the decision follows  complaints about omission of names of some members from the list of Members in Good Standing, published in the 5th March edition of the Ghanaian Times. 

The Committee said the new date, is to ensure that qualified eligible members are not disenfranchised. 

The statement asked persons who have problems with their names to notify the Secretary to the Elections Committee at the Ghana International Press Centre. 

It called on any such person to show evidence of payment of dues for the necessary investigations to be conducted. The deadline for such submissions is Friday the 15 of this month.
