Govt is targeting improving efficiency of revenue collection - Former Deputy Minister of Finance

A Former Deputy Minister of Finance Fiifi Kwetey says the increase in the threshold of the vat will come as a relieve to many business operators whose turnover is not big.
 
Speaking to business news after the reading of the 2013 budget, he said government is targeting improving the efficiency of revenue collection.
 
Mr. Kwetey also asked Ghanaians to embrace tax reforms since that is the means of ensuring real growth in development.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the finance committee James Avedzi has hailed the proposal by finance minister to introduce new laws to harmonize the work ot the Ghana revenue authority. 
The minister of finance in the 2013 budget said some laws will be tabled before parliament. They include the revenue administration bill and the customs bill.
