NCA tasks telecom operators to regularly check towers The Deputy Director, Corporate and Consumer Affairs at the National Communications Authority, NCA, Mawuko Zormelo, has urged all telecommunication operators to carry out regular checks on their masts mounted at residential areas. Mr Zormelo said the improper fastening of masts poses serious hazards to the public. His call follows the announcement by the NCA that only two companies have so far complied with the Authority's guidelines on the deployment of towers and masts. Mr Zormelo said it is important for the operators to check their masts at all times to ensure their structural integrity On the issue of sanctions against telecommunication operators refusing to collaborate to share common masts, Mr. Zormelo said the Authority has no power to sanction such operators.
