ECOWAS To Construction Lagos-Abidjan Highways ECOWAS Heads of State and Government have discussed the construction of the Lagos-Abidjan Highways likely to start this year. The Highway when completed will pass through all ECOWAS countries for easy movement of persons and trade. Infrastructure and Transport ministers of member countries are expected to meet this month to discuss the way forward. President John Mahama said this formed part of the discussions at the just ended 42nd Summit of the ECOWAS Authourity of Heads of State and Government at Yamoussoukro. Cote D'ivoire. The two day Summit also looked at the crisis in Mali and Guinnea Bissau. President Mahama said the summit received a report from the Peace and Security Council with regards the two countries. Currently rebels in Mali have been pushed out and most of the Sovereign territories have been recovered. GBC
