LESDEP supports Media personnel with vital media accessories

The National Co-ordinator of the Local Enterprises and Skills Development, LESDEP, Mr Adam Gariba, says LESDEP has repositioned itself as the pathway to an exciting, new era of business development and entrepreneurship with new innovative job creation modules to be introduced which will augment the existing ones,to attract more people.

The LESDEP programme is a public-private partnership under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development aimed at creating local enterprises in championing job creation and economic growth of the country.


Since its inception as a company, the programme has trained and helped establish some 68,000 beneficiaries across the country.


At a media forum in Accra, Mr Gariba said the skills acquired by the people trained under the programme,are to help them establish their own businesses or improve on the performance of their enterprises.

Mr Gariba expressed his gratitude to the media for the support, criticisms and encouragement in making LESDEP a huge success adding that LESDEP appreciated the watch dog role of the media that enables institutions to improve on performance.


Mr Ransford Tetteh, President of the 
Ghana Journalists Association, lauded the initiative and called for continued support of the programme to enable it assist many more people willing to take advantage to acquire and enhance their skills in various vocations.

Media personnel who had over the last two years worked with LESDEP in creating awareness about its programmes and activities were supported with some vital media accessories to enhance their work.
