Gov't provides Scholarships for Mathematics, Science students Government has provided bursaries and scholarships for students studying pure and applied Mathematics, Science and Technology for 2010 to 2011 academic year. The beneficiaries are in second – cycle, vocational and technical and tertiary institutions. The Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Secretariat and the GET Fund last year initiated Mathematics, Science and Technology Scholarship Scheme (MASTESS) to support needy students pursuing pure and applied Mathematics, Science and Technology. In a statement, the Deputy Minister of MEST, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, said various sums of money had been allocated to these institutions and the Heads are to contact the Chief Accountant of the Scholarship Secretariat to collect their cheques. He said the beneficiaries of the scholarships were selected by the MASTESS Implementation Committee set up by the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology. GBC NEWS
