Government to present budget in first week of march

Government is expected to present its budget in the first week of March.

The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta who gave the hint said although government has a herculean task especially with regards to the discovery of some unpaid arrears, the budget will clearly illustrate measures that will ensure fiscal prudence.

He was speaking at his first encounter with the media in Accra.

Touching on Ghana's Extended Credit Facility with the IMF, Mr Ofori Atta said government is committed to executing the program to the latter to ensure fiscal consolidation.

He indicated that government is holding talks with the Fund in that regards.
